I want to say a big thank you to you, and to all the suppliers who worked so hard over so long time to make our Board Meeting and Partners' Forum held in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in December 2012 such an overwhelming success.
The GAVI Alliance is a Swiss-based non-governmental organization founded twelve years ago by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with the objective of making vaccines more affordable and attainable for those most in need. To help achieve these efforts, GAVI collaborates closely with not only the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, but also with UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank.Every three years, GAVI hosts a prestigious week long international Partners' Forum which brings together top leaders from; the public and private sectors, civil society, media, Government, non-governmental organizations (NGO's) and eminent personalities to discuss the latest developments and trends in the field of health and vaccines.
In the early months of 2012, GAVI management took a decision to hold its next Board Meeting and Partners' Forum in Tanzania. In August, I travelled to Dar-es-Salaam to undertake preliminary planning, visit the different venues...
